Chess on Golem is a proof-of-concept project that demonstrates how state-based games or problems can be solved interactively using distributed computing power from the Golem Network. It orchestrates a chess game between two AI players, where each move is computed by provider nodes on the network, showcasing how computational resources can influence game outcomes. ## Key Features - **Distributed Move Calculation** — Each chess move is requested as a task on the Golem Network, with providers bidding to compute the best move using Stockfish.js. - **Real-time Game Management** — A Node.js server manages the game state, distributes tasks, and handles communication between AI players and the network. - **Interactive Viewer** — A React-based GUI displays the game progress in real time, including statistics on provider nodes and calculation events. - **Configurable Search Depth** — AI players can be assigned different calculation depths (e.g., depth 20 vs. depth 1), affecting move quality and computation time. - **WebSocket Event Streaming** — Clients can connect via Socket.io to receive live updates on game state, provider activity, and move events. ## Philosophy The project aims to illustrate that complex, interactive computations can be decentralized and performed on-demand across a peer-to-peer network, enabling new models for resource allocation and cost-efficient problem-solving.

Golem Fleet Battle Simulator

A system for calculating the results of a battle between two opposing starship fleets on the Golem network. Used in the iOS game Rock Paper Frigate to determine the result of PvP fleet battles.
